During 1998 through 2000, Epson America hired Digital Multi-Media Artist Wallace Jackson to bring his talent to the table to create Epson's cutting-edge 3D and i3D digital LCD projector multimedia to promote their LCD Projectors for the emerging Digital Signage marketplace.
Epson's LCD Projector Division projects included 21 individual High-Resolution Digital HD Projector Product Demonstration e-Signage software packages (using .EXE Format) as well as the creation of Epson's sponsored Indy Racecar in 3D, for use in the product demos, along with 3D User Interface (UI) Design and 3D Animation for a comprehensive User eXperience (UX) Design.
The product demos were used for several years in the Epson booth at their largest industry tradeshows, including Comdex, PC Expo, InfoComm and CeBit. The rich media content deliverables were data optimized to be at least 100X smaller than similar projects created in Flash or Digital Video and ran automatically (and forever) for days or weeks at a time if necessary. The EXEs were also used by Epson Sales Teams to demo their consumer electronics hardware products to business and consumer customers alike. We are currently speaking with Epson executives about virtualizing their product using interactive 3D [i3D] technology for Java and Acrobat PDF.
